How Do You Size a Single Zone Underfloor Heating System?

The heating system needs to be capable of replacing the heat being lost from the room.  Insulation, windows, external walls and building construction all affect heat loss.

Heated Floor Area

The total room area isn’t necessarily the same as the available heated floor area.  Permanent kitchen units, fixed furniture and other obstructions can reduce the area available for UFH pipework.

Pipe spacing influences the amount of heat that can be transferred through the floor.

Circuit Length

UFH pipe circuits need to be designed within appropriate lengths to maintain suitable flow and system performance.

Can Single Zone UFH Work With a Heat Pump?
